Today I had thhe misfortune of witnessing the new Coldplay video. According to a quick google, the song is called Life in Technicolour II and is possibly one of the worst things I've heard this year. Sitars? As if Chris Martin wasn't bad enough, now he's pillaging indian culture for ideas? Is this the 70's?
From the video you might belive it is actually the 70's, but we all know that no-one back then would have made such a knowing, slick piece of garbage as this.
Hang on a second though. Didn't Supergrass do the puppet thing? And what about Interpol's Evil?
My absolute favourite puppet video is British Sea Power's No Lucifer.
I was going to mention my ongoing theory on how Coldplay are stealing BSP's ideas (take the Violet Hill video, military uniforms? retro film stock?) but life's too short. And everyone knows Coldplay are shit anyway.
